Overview

Glove Compartment is published by Daniel Piotr Cywinski. The app is designed to organize document copies, expiration dates, reminders, and vehicle maintenance records locally on your iPhone. We do not operate an account system or a server that receives these records.

Information stored by the app

Documents and images you add, document details such as expiration dates, maintenance plans including due dates and target odometer readings, and maintenance or repair entries are stored in the app's protected local storage on your device. The app does not upload this content to us.

Text recognition used to suggest expiration dates runs on your device. You are asked to review and confirm a date before the document is saved and reminders are scheduled.

Notifications

If you grant notification permission, expiration reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone. They are standard app notifications, not text messages. Notification text is intentionally generic and does not include the document image, number, type, or other sensitive details.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions and payments through the App Store. The app receives subscription status through Apple's StoreKit service. We do not receive or store your payment card information. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's privacy policies.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your documents, medical or firearm-license information, vehicle location, precise location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. The app does not connect to your vehicle. We do not use third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell personal information.

Backups, exports, and deletion

App-created files are excluded from new device backups. Copies that may already exist in an older device backup remain subject to Apple's backup retention and deletion controls. Any export is initiated by you and is handled by the destination you choose.

You can edit or delete individual documents, maintenance plans, and maintenance records, or reset all app data from within the app. Removing the app deletes its local container from the device, subject to copies that may exist in device backups or exports you created.

Support communications

If you email us, your email provider and ours process your address, message, and attachments. We use support messages only to respond, resolve the issue, protect the service, or meet legal obligations, and retain them only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes. You may request deletion of a support conversation by emailing us.

Children

Glove Compartment is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
